The Eastern Kentucky University Challenge Course is a state of the art facility comprised of a variety of physical obstacles or "challenges" generally referred to as low elements (meaning near the ground) or high elements (referring to obstacles negotiated at a height greater than 10 feet off the ground). It serves as a training facility to help individuals and groups explore a variety of skills such as: leadership development, team building, communicating, problem solving, organizing, and following.
The challenge course is a practical tool in developing self-confidence along with trust in and respect for others. This outdoor-based experiential approach to learning provides an exciting venue for exploring and developing these skills and can be integrated into any curriculum or program. It is an ideal resource for use by university, civic, corporate, athletic, community, youth or social organizations to improve teamwork, communication skills and self-esteem.
