  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Science

       The Department of Recreation and Park Administration offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Park Administration with four options: Tourism and Resort Recreation, Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation ,and Public/Non-Profit Recreation Services. The department also offers a Master of Science degree as well as a Minor in Recreation and Park Administration.

       Students who transfer from another college or university must earn a minimum of 12 hours at Eastern in their major.

       The Bachelor of Science degree requires a minimum grade "C" in all REC courses specified for the major and curriculum option. All REC core and REC option courses must be completed prior to enrollment in REC 463, Practicum.

    Recreation and Park Administration (B.S.)

    Major Requirements
    Core (43 hours) REC 101,102, 163, 263, 200, 311, 350, 401, 406, 410, 450, 460 and 463; and one of the following options:
    Options
    Tourism & Resort Recreation (15 hours) REC 280, 380, 480, Geo 305, and EHS 230
    Natural Resources & Outdoor Recreation (13 hours) REC 190, 290, 380, 516, and 530
    Public/Non-Profit Recreation Services (13 hours) REC 190, 280, 430, and six hours from the folowing courses: POL 331, 332, 333, 377, or COM 390
    Therapeutic Recreation
    (11 hours)
